Sunflower Bike Shop
I'm at the Sunflower Bike Shop in Lawrence. Their phone number is 785/843-5000. Dan at the bike shop has been very helpful.....checked out my bike and helped me route my trip through Kansas City.
Doug, remember there's no reason to rush and drink H2O! Sounds like you are meeting some interesting folks. Hot here too, yeah I'm not on a bike. Some new research out this week about biking and PD. Inconclusive at this time but "they" think biking may slow the progression of PD. So hang in there! Love Barbara :)
Doug, Looks like your ride is getting interesting. I hope this time you are wearing road bike shorts and good gloves. if not, I have no pity on your agony.
Those snakes sure sounded bad. I never saw any out west. Please indicate what state you're in with the city. I have no idea where you really are.
At least I'm on the right side of the grass! Thanks to Mary Gillitzer at South Fork Resort, Stoutsville, MO. She took the pic and fed me too!
Cascade Camping
This is one of my favorite photos because it captures some of the loneliness of long distance riding. I'm camped at 6,000 feet ASL, about 20 miles west of Crater Lake. There was a thunderstorm that night; just the thing to make you feel tiny!
I'm 55 years old. I have Parkinsons Disease. I've ridden from Portland, Oregon to Boise, Idaho three times and once from Boise to Denver. In 2008 I rode from Denver to Boston, raising money for Parkinsons research. Now my goal is to ride from Anchorage to Fairbanks, Alaska.
